Northern Social Enterprises for Development (NSEfD)

NSEfD has been a driving force in Northern Ghana's entrepreneurial ecosystem. It's the programme that established NSEN — a network that has empowered **150 businesses** through capacity building and networking, helping them strengthen their skills in business management, digital operations, and advocacy.

Through NSEfD, member businesses have made real progress: formalizing their operations, securing FDA approvals for agro-processing products, adopting e-commerce platforms, and gaining access to funding. Our inclusive leadership model and active social media community have also given businesses a space to share challenges and shape decisions that affect their work.

NSEfD builds on the HOPin Enterprise for Development (HEFD) initiative, which set out to improve living conditions, reduce inequality, and foster sustainable businesses in Northern Ghana — with a particular focus on empowering young entrepreneurs and building a strong, rights-based organization.

What we've done

12 training sessions delivered on business management, digital operations, leadership, and advocacy, equipping MSMEs with the essential skills to grow and sustain their businesses.

Trade Fairs

In November 2023, we hosted a trade fair bringing together 130 businesses across various sectors to showcase their products, network with peers, and engage directly with key stakeholders including the FDA, GEA, ORC, GRA, and GTVET — creating visibility, new connections, and stronger client bases.
